RENO - UNR's Mackay Stadium is roughly an eight-hour bus ride from Summerlin. But for supporters of Palo Verde football, the site of the 2008 large-school state championship game may as well have been a couple miles down the road.

Basic quarterback Faiman named Home News Player of the Year

Robby Faiman's beginnings as Basic's quarterback could not have been more humbling. As a skinny, 5-foot-4 ninth-grader, barely tall enough to see over the offensive line, Faiman helmed Basic's 2004 freshman team to a 0-10 season.
