School rezoning options split Henderson community

Parents of high school students living in Seven Hills breathed a sigh of relief Thursday after a zoning committee decided not to split the community and send half of the students to Liberty High School.

The campus at Judy and John Goolsby Elementary School was buzzing on Saturday for the inaugural Fall Festival and Shopping Expo, an event that drew more than 700 guests who enjoyed a variety of games, food and holiday shopping.

More than 500 people crowded into the gymnasium at Chaparral High School for a town hall meeting Wednesday night on the Clark County School District’s looming budget cuts. The state has told the district to expect $120 million less in funding for the next biennium. The district has already made about $133 million in cuts.
