Rain, lightning, thunder gone from Las Vegas
Sun, Oct 5, 2008 (8:59 a.m.)
Rain, lightning and thunder that swept through the north and northwestern Las Vegas Valley Saturday night is gone and sunny weather stays through this week.
A line of thunderstorms dropped from a tenth of an inch of rain in the south end of the valley to 0.28 of an inch in northeastern Las Vegas near Overton between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. Saturday, the National Weather Service said.
Winds from 35 mph to 55 mph gusted throughout the valley as the storms pushed eastward. The low temperature was 59 degrees set at 11:30 p.m.
Today's high temperature is expected to be in the low to mid 80s with a gradual warming trend taking place, the weather service said. Winds are expected to be light, under 10 mph.
As the week progresses, the daytime temperature will warm to 90 degrees or a degree or two higher by the middle of the week.

Darn............ We sure could use something beside sunshine - a little rain never hurts and it breaks up the monotony too.
