A retired agent with the FBI bureau in San Diego has been arrested for the death of a woman found Thursday in Las Vegas who had been struck with a hammer.

According to Clark County Detention Center records, 61-year-old Edward A. Preciado-Nuno was arrested Thursday on a charge of murder with a deadly weapon. The FBI in San Diego has confirmed that Preciado-Nuno is a retired FBI agent.

Metro Police homicide detectives were called to a southwest Las Vegas Valley residence about a domestic violence incident in the 8700 block of Ashley Park Avenue near West Pebble Road and Durango Drive about 6 a.m. Thursday.

Police said when they arrived they found a woman dead in the garage of the home with several blunt force trauma wounds to her head from a hammer.

Officers also said they found a man there with injuries. The man was taken to a local hospital, treated and then booked into the detection center. Police have not confirmed what relationship he had with the woman, but said they think he was fighting with her.

The Clark County coroner's office has not released the identity or the cause of death of the woman.

  1. This is why you should never automatically trust someone just because they work in law enforcement. Always keep your wits about you. It's the times we live in.

  2. Also to keep in mind that News Media is not always an accurate account of what took place. They are taught to use words and pictures to attract the attention of the public. This sells newspapers. Keep in mind that in America you are innocent intill proven guilty.

  3. Right because a man with a couple of scratches who beat a womens face to a pulp with a hammer is oh so Innocent. Riiiiiight. Grow up. Keep in mind Commonsense goes a lot further than that drivel of Innocent UNTIL you are found guilty. This guy is an ex FBI aggent trained by the FBI in the ways of self defense are you telling me he couldn't disarm a 110lb women? And that it was self defense. How many times do you have to hit a women in the face with a hammer you TOOK from her to defend yourself? Get a clue Cali.

Thanks for illustrating the very reason why people in our country are innocent until proven guilty. You just convicted this guy based on a story you read, a story that is incomplete to say the least, and which does not benefit from any investigation of the events that transpired.
