Poor, little Washoe County apparently has a multiple personality disorder. The northerners have been strutting all election season as the swing county in this swing state. And the election results — a Barack Obama landslide in Washoe County — only made the case more potent. But now comes the Reno Gazette-Journal with this headline Wednesday: “N. Nevada loses its clout.” Oh, boohoo. Seems the northerners are all atwitter because the legislative God known as Bill Raggio has been thrust into the minority. “This may represent the real shift of politics to Clark County in defining the direction of the state and the priorities of the state,” political science professor Fred Lokken told the newspaper. I sure hope so.
