The battle to save Beers begins

The Committee to Improve Nevada's Economy and Education System -- no it's not a Jim Rogers group! -- has begun a rebuttal to all the state Democratic Party mailers against state Sen. Bob Beers. The GOP won't or can't do it, so some conservative business interests will. Their first effort is at right.

  1. I live near Ann Rd. & Durango and last weekend someone vandalized a number of large signs that were anti Bob Beers.

The signs alleged Beers is tied to the porn industry. I found them repulsive. Unfortunately individuals, Beers supporters, took the law into their own hands and destroyed the signs and dragged one out into the intersection of Ann & Durango. This unlawful act turned into a dangerous situation because people driving east, early in the morning while looking into the sun, had a difficult time seeing the large metal frame on the road.

So thanks to Beers supporters our lives were put in jeopardy.

Maybe Beers should have confronted the signs and called a rally, with the press at the intersection to address the allegations.

Or had his daddy do it?

  2. The Democratic with Jim Roger's money came up with some porn of there own. They said the Republicans wanted children to die and Republicans were for cancer.

The pig smell is coming from the Democratic Party and all those that support it.

  3. Sounds like Beers and the Republicans are whiners.

People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Like in any political campaign, things get said and if you can't take what they're saying and get your message across, that's your bad.

Maybe if Beers wasn't such an inflexible right winger, these attacks wouldn't be flung at him.

  4. The Democratic party stinks pretty bad.

Rogers declared war on the Republicans and he is stinks like a pig, too.

Only pigs would mail flyers that said Republicans want children to die and Republicans are for cancer.

Rogers and his money support the Democratic pig smelling mailing campaign.

    The Democrats stink!!!!!!!

  5. "jfinance" you say the "The Democrats stink!!!!" Compared to what, the thousands of rotting corpses of the Republican Party?

Like many people who have read your rants, and now just skim by most of them - I've come to the conclusion you need some serious psychological counseling dude!

You, too, can change by just being open to the idea that maybe, just maybe, there might be a chance that you may be wrong and there just might be a few people out here that know a little more than you - reach out for help soon!

  6. Johnathan, you seem to dislike a lot of people including leaders in the Nevada Democratic State Party.

I believe that many in the Nevada Democratic Party shun you. I see that you are no longer chairman of the Nevada Vets for Democrats.

You have changed parties several times.

You have called Bush, McCain, Porter, Heller and Gibbons as either insane or sociopath.

You have called for the ban of the Republican Party.

The Republican Party only wishes that there are more Democrats just like you.

  7. Thanks for the diatribe.

But in the end Beers "friends"; if not in the porn business, are at the very least vandals.

The extreme right and left are scary.

Beers is not even liked by Nevada Republicans, except Gibbons, and in this case a no vote for Beers will get the most corrupt political Chairman, Townsend, out of the Chair he sells every session!

  8. jfnance32, How in the world can you criticize anyone, when your posts are the most ludicrous people have ever seen? The Democrats stink, pig smelling mailers,Rogers stinks, just how immature are you? Eveyday there is some ridiculous statement or reference to Harry reids office regarding energy, when infact the world knows McCain has voted numerous times against alternative energy sources while in the hip pocket of big oil.Are you and Palin sisters? It does not take long to figure out that you like Palin lack subsatnce, credibility or a knowledge of the issues. You offer up some ignorant, nonsensical hog wash trying to make someone think you are intelligent. Nothing could be further from the truth.

  9. Beers and Townsend need to be investigated and charged in a court of law.

  10. Homer, I guess you find very mature that your Democratic Party mails out flyers that say Republicans want children dead.

If you think that is OK then there is no hope for you.

  11. The flyers shouldn't say that Republicans want children dead. They should say Republicans want lots of children to be born and then completely ignored and to lack "services" like food and education.

  12. Jim, do you deplore all the right wing propaganda re "DEMOCRATS KILL BABIES"? Or is that OK because it supports your world view?

MichaelGreen has it dead on; all the republicans want is cannon fodder. That's the only reason they care for the "unborn".

  13. Well that and because it is an affront to God. God demands that we run this country according to the Bible. Separation of church and state...nahh. I would rather have religious rastafarians running the country. At least they're laid back, even if it require two joints in the morning and two joints at night...

  14. I guess you are glad that you Democrats are in the sewer.

Two and half cheers for Democrats who love sewer political porn.

You guys have no standing to be self-righteous over anything if you support a mailer that say Republicans want children to die.

I guess your beliefs must come from the sewer, too.

  15. So the Democrats are a bunch of meanies. That's just rich.

Yesterday, at a Palin rally in Florida, an audience member screamed "Kill him!" after Palin referred to Ayers and Obama. At that same rally, another audience member yelled a racial epithet at an African-American sound man from a national network and said, "Sit down, boy!"

Today, someone screamed "Treason!" while Palin was discussing Obama. (And we know what we do with traitors in the US, right?)

So the brownshirts are emerging in full force, but it's the Democrats who are in the sewer. That is just too rich.

  16. For my bible toting right wing fanatics. Read the New Testament it is full of socialism.

For those of you who only have a Book of Mormon, remember your beginnings. Brigham Young was a socialist, the ZCMI was exactly that (key word "cooperative"). Further Fort Douglas was built by the federal government with it's cannons pointed at SLC to end the socialisum not multiple wifes, that was just the right wing spin to make it God's work.

  17. There is absolute nothing in the New Testament that says the government is suppose to do anything except collect taxes.

It talks about people helping people.

It does not talk about setting a faceless government agency to collect taxes and then turn around and hand out money while pocketing 50% of the tax money for "adminstrative" expenses and paying some guy to do a do nothing job because he is friend of Harry.

  18. ...and a right winged fanatic responds...lol!

  19. "I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." -- Matthew 19:23-24

Of course, what Jesus meant by that is that we should give rich people another really big tax cut, even if it means we have to slash social programs for the poor.

  20. WOW....you must be using a new English dictionary or something.

"I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." -- Matthew 19:23-24

Somehow, according to liberals the above says, "Govenment needs to collect tons of taxes and then turn around give half of it or less to people."

I guess somewhere in that verse it has the word "government", "taxes" and "social programs" buried in it.

People using a regular dictionary might read it as saying that rich people do not have a need for God and therefore have no desire to learn the pathway to God.

  21. Or we can "bailout" billionaires....

    Ecclesiastes 4:13 Rock the Vote!

Genesis 2:15 It never was our world to use and abuse!

  22. "Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's, and unto God the things that are God's." -- Matthew 22:21

Some people have viewed this passage as a statement by Jesus that a true believer should not obsess about taxes, as earthly wealth is a distraction from a focus on God (as you suggest by your statement that rich people have no need for God.) Of course, only Communists believe this interpretation.

The part where Jesus called for passage of a massive tax cut for millionaires was edited out of future editions.

  23. I asked you a very specific question, Jim. Care to answer it?

  24. I never said the New Testatment called for massive tax breaks.

There is not much in the New Testament about government at all. You quoted one of the few passages. That is Christ's response to somebody that was trying to get Christ to make a political statement for or against the Roman government.

Christ was not trying to lead some political movement to try to fix the Roman government or puppet Jewish government at the time.

He never said the government should this or the government should do that. The Roman government was a truly brutal government, too.

    Christ was talking to individuals.

The early church, as mentioned in the New Testament, never lead a political move to change government actions either.

My belief is that Christ was saying in that passage that earthly governments will require of you of earthly things which are meaningless. But God is asking you for spiritual items.

I think his statement is neutral on whether the Roman taxes were too high, too low or just right.

Christ did not want to get involved in politics.

  25. Nance,

That was one of the best-reasoned and respectful responses I've ever heard from you, so I'll lay off on the sarcasm.

I'll only say that I agree absolutely with your opinion that Jesus wanted nothing to do with politics; the combination of religion and government is a toxic stew that too often corrupts both.

  26. I, too, agree with what you wrote, Jim and I agree wholeheartedly with That_Anonymous_Guy's take.

It's hard to say this without sounding patronizing, but thank you for that, Jim.

  27. Thanks for thanks.
