He has known about information for over a year that indicates that Gilbert stoled from the taxpayers.
He knows that Gilbert has served prison time for stealing at another place.
Rogers gave Gilbert one year paid vacation.
When Gilbert came off his one year paid vacation, Gilbert and another person did the same job and both received over $100,000 each for that work that one person could have done.
Now, Gilbert has been indicted and Rogers gives him another paid long term vacation.
Excellent work and strong leadership....Keep up the good work Rogers!!!!!!!
What a bunch of BS. Rogers is stepping down next June . . . he was appointed simply because he has deep pockets and a history of donating large sums to colleges. It is all about the Benjamins, and the idea was to have Jim pony up the dollars and get whatever cronies he has to do the same. When he was more inclined to attack budget cuts and not shell out his own moolah things got ugly.
Let's see how much damage Rogers can do to the system before he leaves in June. It can't come soon enough. Do all of us a favor and quit now. Just because you have money doen't mean you are smart. You have proven that by taken down the system. Congrats!!!
Jim Rogers stepping down may very well mean the death of higher education in this state. I have never in my life seen a community that not only fails to support its university, but is openly hostile to it. The attitude of this city toward education makes me ashamed to live here. Why is willful ignorance so popular?
Jim Rogers should reconsider stepping down as Chancellor. There is so much more important work left to be accomplished for Nevada's Higher Education System. Rogers has only begun to scratch the surface, and this is no time for him to quit. Mr. Rogers, you are needed in this leadership role as Chancellor. Just hang in there a few more years.

Rogers must love Gilbert, too.
